There is currently a swarm of quakes on Vancouver Island, Canada. And the island sits just next to the Cascadia fault zone. Is this series of hundreds of quakes another sign of the next megaquake along the dangerous fault? What people are already calling the “big one” is an impending earthquake that is set to destroy most of the northwest region of North America. Northwest FEMA Director Kenneth Murphy said that this natural disaster is set to kill around 13,000 people and injure another 2,500. California fears “Big One” after quake strikes near Anaheim

Locals took to social media to report feeling a “sharp jolt” from the quake, with many of them in the La Habra area of Orange County. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake, which had a depth of 4.8 miles, hit at 8:21 am local time (4:21pm UK time). Twitter user Michael Kim wrote: “Another earthquake just hit Southern California. It was a sharp jolt.” The news comes amid heightened fears of California being rocked by a magnitude 7.0 earthquake or greater, known as the ‘Big One’.  California is located on the Ring of Fire, a huge area in the basin of the Pacific Ocean where earthquakes and volcanic eruptions frequently occur. Robert Graves, a research geophysicist at the USGS, warned late last year that the Big One could be overdue by 10 years. READ MORE

California earthquakes are a geologic inevitability. The state straddles the North American and Pacific tectonic plates and is crisscrossed by the San Andreas and other active fault systems. The magnitude 7.9 earthquake that struck off Alaska's Kodiak Island on Jan. 23, 2018 was just the latest reminder of major seismic activity along the Pacific Rim.

A powerful earthquake has rocked California sending shockwaves felt as far away as San Francisco, it has been reported. The 4.7 magnitude quake struck at 11.31am local time between the Salinas Valley and the San Joaquin Valley. The US Geological Survey calculated the perceived shaking close to the epicentre was strong. Shaking was reported in the region of Salinas, Monterey and Santa Cruz and all the way north to some parts of the Bay Area, including San Francisco.

Large Earthquake Warning for West Pacific

The last time the Juan de Fuca oceanic plate jolted under the North American plate, unleashing a 9.0 earthquake, was in 1700. With the event scheduled to happen once every 500 years or so, we are due for another any day now. Although it's not clear what will happen when this mega quake does hit, researchers at the University of Washington recently presented 50 possible scenarios of how the event might unfold.

Over the years, many people have been shown that someday a giant earthquake will cause significant portions of California to fall into the ocean. But up until now, most scientists have disputed the idea that this could ever actually happen. Well, now all of that has changed. According to a brand new study, a megaquake along the west coast “could plunge large parts of California into the sea almost instantly”. In fact, the researchers that conducted this study say that it is almost certain to happen eventually. Of course they probably don’t believe that such an event is imminent or else they would be moving out of the state like so many other people are.

This is not fear mongering.  I am simply relaying information passed along to me.  I would not rule out the possibility of a megaquake soon out on the west coast.  You should be getting off coastlines or at least getting prepared for serious earth changes.  The suggested date is December 15/16.

In an email received at our office we were informed that there is a possibility that an earthquake is to be artificially created or induced in the Laguna Salada west of the city and municipality of Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. The event will take place between 15 or 16 December, 2016 between 03:00 or 04:00 in the morning at a depth of 300-450 feet. According to the communiqué received, a contact who has access to the police bands and emergency services heard the chatter of this event that is about to happen.

The group’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena have warned a series of mini-tremors beneath the surface of the City of Angels have caused pressure to build-up.
In 2014, a 5.1 magnitude earthquake hit the town of La Habra in southern California and the experts from NASA say that there is still some left over strain from that, which will almost definitely hit before April 2018.
