Bishop Athanasius Schneider has spoken out what everybody knows: The Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) was not only wrong interpreted but there are “some problematic affirmations of the Council itself”.
Talking to CatholicWorldReport.com (July 6), Schneider criticises “ambiguous formulations” in the Council’s texts from where “a lot of errors" are now arising.
Talking about the upcoming Synod on the Youth, Schneider fears that the Vatican's working document “accepted the propaganda terminology" of gay ideology. This is “contrary to sane reason and to the revealed law of God”, Schneider adds.
He fears that the synod will be used as tool to promote "homosexual ideology, which is conquering almost the entire world”.

The apparent success of the current negotiations was based on the fact that the problematic issues related to Vatican II were apparently considered by Rome to be subject to further discussion, whereas now they are once again demanded as a priori a firm assent to the whole Vatican II and to some parts of the post-conciliar magisterium that still gives rise to some doubts. Once again, His Excellency is being hailed for his efforts; one of the “money quotes” being:

Some of the new statements of Vatican II (e.g. collegiality, religious liberty, ecumenical and inter-religious dialogue, the attitude towards the world) have not a definitive character, and being apparently or truly non-concordant with the traditional and constant statements of the Magisterium, they must be complemented by more exact explications and by more precise supplements of a doctrinal character.

Archbishop Lefebvre WOULD HAVE NEVER HAD BEEN DOING WHAT FELLAY IS CURRENTLY DOING.  In fact he would have booted out himself people like Bishop Fellay and his cohorts...

In a recent interview with the Spanish website Adelante La Fe, Bishop Bishop Athanasius Schneider of Kazakhstan (likely instructed by liberal members of the Society of St. Pius X) said, “It is my great wish that the SSPX might be recognized and established within the regular structure of the Church.”

Bishop Athanasius Schneider, originally from Germany but now a Bishop of Astana in Kazakhstan, has made himself known to Traditionalists in recent years for his many statements at least apparently sympathetic to Catholic Tradition. For instance last year he associated himself publicly with the four Cardinals’ questioning of Pope Francis’ doctrine in the papal document, Amoris Laetitia. When he himself does so much to criticize the Church swinging “left,” he may not understand or appreciate coming under attack from the “right,” but it is the Truth which is at stake, not our little personalities. Your Excellency, thank you for much truth that you have had the courage openly to defend, but do understand that the full Truth is much stronger, and more demanding, than you think. You gave recently an interview to Adelante la Fe. Please do not take it personally if I quote (in italics) a few of your answers and criticize them:—

Following up one day after exposing Cardinal Burke and his false traditionalism I now have to tackle fellow pseudo traditionalist Bishop Schneider.  Yes, the same Bishop Schneider who has labeled people like me as uncharitable.  The same Bishop Schneider who is asking for a reclarification on Vatican II (which is not resistance therefore not sufficient).  In one of his latest interviews he tackles some of the questions being asked on the SSPX and once again demonstrates that he simply doesn’t get it.  He is a yet another false traditionalist “conservative” type which Catholics cannot follow as an example.  He is yet another prominent figure in the false traditionalist movement yet who doesn’t see clearly as an eagle for our times.  We must continue to pray for him and the other pseudo traditionalists but nevertheless let us dive into this interview and break it down.
