When men today parade around shirtless (w/ the excuse of it being too hot!) or wear shorts, muscle shirts, etc, etc... they are showing off their bodies to lure women. Or when they show up to Mass dressing very sloppily and extremely casual and inappropriately, they are not dressing well before God nor setting a proper example to other men or their sons. The whole dress code has gone to pot since the 60's across the board in all areas of life. I think if we look to support one another in dressing modestly and well, then it will help to foster and reestablish this Catholic understanding that has been lost. Men's fashions have changed greatly throughout the ages - short "skirts" for the roman army, the kilt, tights to show off the legs and their muscles during the middle ages/renaissance, cod pieces, etc. Clothing for both genders has definitely been used to attract the attention of the opposite sex. Did the Church speak on the proper dress of men as well? The pants "movement' for women is not a catholic thing. I hesitate even leaving your comment up. Not every woman wears tight pants, and certain activities do require wearing trousers for practical reasons, some skirts and dresses allow very restrictive movements. Also, the "gown" and "head coverings" add an elegance and dignity to the person. Rather, today, we have gender identity loss, role confusion, and indignity of the human person exhibited in genderless and immodest attire. Look at the marvelous dignity of the priest. He wears a cassock and remains fully male in his garb and with great dignity. The pants are really the undergarment of a proper outfit, that we have today exposed by uncovering. Truly - pants are just underwear with a designer label and fancy stitching!
