Like the Mission of the Prophet Elias

Like the Mission of the Prophet Elias

After reviewing The Message of Fatima – the Vatican’s Third Secret – the Los Angeles Times reported that Catholics are not required to believe in Fatima. (June 26, 2000) The familiar cliché is: “It’s only a private revelation, so why pay attention to Fatima and listen to the word of God?” In fact, it is this kind of attitude that many Catholics have, so why worry about the Third Secret?

It is puzzling how they find excuses not to obey the word of God, to save their souls, go to Church, receive Communion, go to Confession and say the Rosary. Proverbs states: “All those that love Me, that seek Me, will find Me. But those that hate Me love death.” (8:36)

Card. Joseph Ratzinger stressed this point at great length in The Message of Fatima report, which revealed the bogus Third Secret. However, the Cardinal has a horrible habit of leaving out facts such as the consequences for disobeying God’s command.

Jesus Christ responds to such omissions by saying: “Woe to you Scribes and Pharisees hypocrites … Ye, serpents, generations of vipers, how will you escape the judgment of Hell? Therefore, behold, I sent you prophets … and some of them you put to death and crucified and some you scourged in your synagogues and persecuted from city to city.” (Mt 23:25; 33-34)

We must be careful because if the private revelation is proven to be the word of God, then He wants it to be obeyed.

King Louis XIV, as well as Louis XV and Louis XVI, had 100 years to consecrate France to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It was on June 17, 1689, that St. Margaret Mary Alacoque took the first steps to send her private revelation to Louis XIV.

The Jesuit Order had been chosen to spread that devotion to His Heart and pass it on to the King. The message was not passed on and the Society of Jesus was dissolved. One hundred years later Louis XVI lost his crown to the Revolution and his head to the guillotine. It shows what happens when God’s commands are not obeyed.

In 1930, Pius XI ignored God’s request in Fatima to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Lucy reported God’s anger: “Make it known to My ministers that since they follow the example of the King of France in delaying the execution of My request, they will follow him into misfortune. It will never be too late to have recourse to Jesus and Mary.”

Like Elias the Prophet

Our Lady came to Fatima in 1917 like the Prophet Elias to call Catholics who were already straying from the true path, already falling into the path of Modernism, heresies described by Pope St. Pius X in 1903. She came to call us back to the Faith of our Fathers. We must believe as our Fathers in the Faith believed; we must pray as they prayed.

The last prophet who prophesied in the Old Testament was the Prophet Malachi. In the last paragraph of his book God says: “Remember the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel with the various statutes and judgments therein. Behold I will send you Elias the prophet, before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he shall turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, or else I will come and strike the land with a curse.” (Malachi 4:4-5)

with dire consequences
In the Old Testament the most perfect prophet after Moses is Elias. God sent him to the 10 northern tribes of Israel when they broke away after Solomon’s sin. Jeroboam led the northern tribes into idolatry and adultery.

God sent Elias to remind them of the laws of Moses that they were breaking. Because they did not listen to him, they were destroyed by the Assyrians and scattered in 722 B.C.

St. John the Baptist was sent to come in the spirit and power of Elias. Again, the Jews in Our Lord’s time did not listen to his warning “to repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” And so, God struck the land with a curse, and in 70 A.D. the Temple was destroyed, the priesthood was annihilated and the people were scattered to the ends of the earth: another incidence of God’s exemplary action.

God works according to established patterns that are repeated again and again. We can expect a repeat of the same phenomenon before the Second Coming of Christ. Someone must come in the spirit and power of Elias. And that is what Our Lady of Fatima was.

Using the same pattern Our Lady told the three seers on July 13, 1917, “You have seen Hell, where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace. The war [World War I] is going to end; but if people do not cease offending God, a worse one [World War II] will break out during the pontificate of Pius XI.

"When you see a light illumined by an unknown light, (January 25, 1938) know that this is the great sign given you by God that He is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine and persecutions of the Church and the Holy Father.”

“To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart and the Communion of Reparation on the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church.

"The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer and various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, it will be converted and a period of peace will be granted the world.”

signs of a coming great chastisement?
If the Church would have heeded the commands of Our Lady, the Third Secret never would have been written by Sister Lucy. There would have been no need for it.

But, instead, the Popes failed to obey the words of Our Lady of Fatima. Consequently, we will have the punishment: all will be chastised and various nations will be annihilated.

Sister Lucy told Fr. Fuentes in her farewell message: “It is my mission not just to tell about the material punishments that will certainly come over the earth if the world does not pray and do penance. No, my mission is to tell everyone the imminent danger we are in of losing our souls for all eternity if we remain in sin.”

She was warning us of the Deciphered Version of the Third Secret that should scare and concern Catholics if they desire to save their souls and let the Blessed Mother help them.

Our Lady told Lucy that God was giving two last remedies to the world: The Holy Rosary and devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

We know what the punition will be and what the remedies are… What we do is up to us.
